Group Activities

So, what will your kids do here every day? It might be easier to tell you what they won’t do! Our program has something for everyone, from the most athletic camper to the most creative.

Arts and Crafts

Our campers get to explore their creative side with original and fun art projects all summer long. Whether painting, crafting, drawing, or sculpting, they will bring home a one-of-a-kind masterpiece!

Dance and Camp Show

Take some music and movement, throw in some gymnastics, add a touch of funk and a ton of energy – and you get the magical dance camp experience! The program culminates in the annual Camp Show, held on August 15, 2024. Make plans to be there for the well-earned standing ovations!

Discovery Science

How do you make a rocket? What do turtles eat? How do you make ice cream? All campers get to experience and learn these answers (and more) with our hands-on science program led by Mr. Clay Wollney.

Computer Lab

Our campers get to take a break from the heat in our air-conditioned, monitored computer lab and enjoy using electronic devices. If your child is unfamiliar with a computer, don’t worry; we help campers safely navigate cyberspace! Some of the software used includes robotics and mechanical Lego building!

Weekly Events

If you’ve had a child attend Day Camp, you’re probably very familiar with the terms “Super Soaker Day,” “Halloween in July,” and “Color Wars!” If it’s your first time with us, get ready to hear about these events and much, much more! See the Camp Calendar for complete details.

Game Room

Our older campers get a chance to take a break from the heat in our arcade-style game room. The Game Room has all the classics, like Pac-Man, air hockey, and foosball.

Gymnasium and Fields

The summertime is ideal for tennis, soccer, whiffle ball, football, basketball, kickball, and relays – and don’t forget about pin-down! Not sure what that is? Join us, and you’ll find out!

Gaga Pit

It takes coordination, concentration, and quick action to play this fast-paced, Israeli-style dodgeball game that is perfect for our smallest to our tallest campers!

Traverse/Climbing Wall

The rock wall provides an exciting challenge for our campers. Your child will have a blast in a safe and supervised industry-standard environment while improving strength, flexibility, endurance, balance, and memory.

Cool Cafeteria, Hot Lunch!

Need we say more? If hot lunch isn’t for your child, we also have cold options like PB&J and cheese sandwiches. Fruit, drinks, and salads are always available, too.

Swim Program

Swimming is a part of every camp day. Campers enjoy two swim periods, except for the Giants and Super Senior Groups, who swim for one period. We are an authorized Red Cross Learn-to-Swim (LTS) Program provider. It helps students progress through swim levels at their own pace, mastering the skills in one level before advancing to the next. The LTS Program includes water adaption, stroke development, water safety skills, and learning how to help others in an emergency. Our experienced American Red Cross-certified water safety instructors and certified lifeguards supervise the program. Campers can also attend group instructional swim, which aids in the development of each camper’s swim ability. Free swim periods take place on afternoons and Fridays.

For more information on the swim program, please get in touch with the camp office at 718 303-7845 or siasummercamp@statenislandacademy.org.
