Milestones
- The Tigers amassed 9 championships during the course of the 2023-2024 school year.
- The Girls’ Varsity Softball team completed an undefeated regular season and won the 2024 regular season and postseason championship in the PSAA, as well as the regular season championship in the ACIS.
- In the 2024 ISAL Swim Championships, Tiger swimmers earned a total of 12 medals.
- In the 2023 fall season, the Tigers’ girls’ varsity soccer teams captured their second consecutive ACIS regular season championship. During the season, Kelly G. ‘24 recorded her 100th career goal on her way to setting the school’s record for most career goals by a female soccer player (103).
- The Girls’ Varsity Basketball Team completed an undefeated season in the ACIS, capturing the league’s regular season title and postseason championship in the process.
- The Varsity Golf team was honored with the NYCAL Sportsmanship Award at the conclusion of the 2024 spring season.
- Over 18 SIA athletes have been recruited to play either Division I, II or III athletics in college over the past 4 years.
- In Girls’ Tennis for the 2023 fall season, Sabrina S. ’24 earned both the CHSAA Leadership Award and the CHSAA Senior Scholar Award, and Angelina L. ’26 won the CHSAA Sportsmanship Award.
- Yuriko P. ’27 claimed the 2023 CHSAA girls’ tennis singles title.
- Alexandra B. ’24 and Shayne G. ’24 were named to the 2024 Basketball Coaches Association of New York (BCANY) All-State Academic Team.
- The National High School Coaches’ Association recognized Alexandra B. ’24, Emma V. ’25, Colin C. ’24, Sebastien G. ’24, Shayne G. ’24, Jesse K. ’25, and Sean L. ’25 with Academic All-American honors.
- For the second time in SIA history, two Academy players (Russell N. ’24 and Tyler B. ’24) were selected to play in the NYSAIS Boys’ Tennis Tournament.
- Tyler B. ’24 won his second consecutive NYSAIS Boys’ Tennis Singles title, becoming the first Academy student-athlete to capture two NYSAIS championships. Against the top independent school players in the state, Tyler did not drop a set during any of the NYSAIS tournament matches.
- Tyler B. ’24 completed his Academy tennis career by winning the prestigious Staten Island Intersectional Boys’ Singles title, defeating teammate Russell N. ’24 in the finals.
- Aidia R. ’25 earned the PSAA Regular Season Most Valuable Player honors in softball after the 2024 season, while Vanessa C. ’24 was named the Most Valuable Player of the league’s postseason tournament.
- 15 Tigers earned PSAA all-conference honors during the 2023-2024 school year.
- Kelly G. ‘24 took home the honors as Staten Island Academy’s 2023-2024 Athlete of the Year after fantastic seasons in soccer, basketball, and lacrosse, soccer. Kelly will continue her soccer career at Wagner College.
- Seniors Aria C. ’24 and Shayne G. ’24 were nominated for the prestigious Varsity Club award, given to the top student-athletes from among all the high schools on Staten Island.
- Alexandra B. ’24 received the school’s coveted Randall Award, and both Richard B. ’24 and Shayne G. ’24 won the prestigious Huus Award at the end of the year. These awards are given to the student-athletes who best demonstrate outstanding athletic ability, leadership, sportsmanship, and fair play.
