  • Zachary Z. ’19 became the second male and only the third SIA student-athlete (along with Bethany C. ’12 and Mike K. '18) to win the prestigious Varsity Club Award, presented to the top male and female student-athletes on Staten Island.
  • In the 2018 fall season, Julia L. ’20 won her third consecutive SICHSAA Girls Tennis Singles title. This marked the seventh year in a row in which an SIA player has earned this title (Jillian A. ’16 won 4 consecutive titles from 2012-2015).
  • Head Coach Anthony Pisciottano was named PSAA Boys Soccer Coach of the Year in 2018.
  • 25 SIA athletes have been recruited to play either Division I, II or III athletics in college over the past 5 years.
  • Sophia D. ’19 became the 2018-2019 Jaques Award winner, given to the top female high school basketball player on Staten Island. This was Sophia's second consecutive year winning this coveted award, which has now gone to a member of the SIA Girls Varsity Basketball Team for the last 5 years (Corinn B. ’16 in 2015 and 2016; Clare M. ’17 in 2017).
  • Emily L. ’19 and Sophia D. '19 became members of Staten Island’s 1,000 point club, as the senior duo helped lead the Girls Varsity Basketball Team to a berth in the NYS Federation Class A title game.
  • Emily L'19 was named to the 2019 NYS Federation Class “A” All-Tournament Team and also earned the Joan E. Gumb Golden Eagle award, given to a senior girl basketball player on Staten Island who exhibits leadership, consistency, competitiveness, and perseverance.
  • Francesca M'19 earned the 2019 NYS Federation Class A Basketball Tournament of Champions Dr. Bob Kana Sportsmanship Award.
  • The Boys Varsity Basketball Team earned its 8th consecutive berth in the prestigious NYSAIS postseason tournament.  The boys advanced to the semifinals of this year's tournament. 
  • The Tigers' inaugural Swim Team had a memorable season in 2018-2019.  Three of its members -- Erica M. '24, Joseph D. '23, and Ricky K. '22 -- were selected to participate in the postseason NYSAIS Invitational Swim Championship. 
  • Erica M'24 shattered the pool record in the 500 Freestyle at an ISAL meet at Leman Manhattan.  Her time of 5:01.62 shaved 90 seconds off the previous fastest time by a female swimmer and more than 30 seconds off the fastest time ever recorded by a male swimmer in the pool.
  • SIA’s 1st flight golfer, Zachary Z. '19, won the ACIS Golf Tournament Championship Individual title and helped lead the team to a second place finish overall in the league playoff.  Zachary also earned 2nd place in the PSAA Golf Tournament Individual Championship.  
  • Kaleigh M. ’19 won the PSAA Golf Tournament Girls Individual title in the 2016, 2018, and 2019 seasons.
