| The Fine and Performing Arts Department keeps a running blog of Broadway shows that it recommends.
If a student, teacher, or staff member sees a show on Broadway, or Off-Broadway, he/she lets our Department Chairman know, and it appears right here. Below is the latest recommendation direct from the Academy.

Rodgers and Hammerstein’s South Pacific
The first Broadway revival of this Pulitzer-Prize-winning musical is a sumptuous mounting of a classic work of musical theater. Every element of the production is first rate -– acting, staging, scenic design, lighting. Most exciting though, is the use of the complete original orchestration. Whereas most recent revivals of classic shows have reduced their orchestras to anywhere from six to fourteen players, this Lincoln Center revival boasts an orchestra of 30. Clocking in at three hours and fifteen minutes, I would recommend South Pacific to any student from Grade 4 on.
