Fresh Taste in The Patrick Commons
As we all know the Patrick Commons has undergone many new changes this year. There are new foods on the lunch menu, new rectangular-shaped tables, and a new lunch line formation. Recently I interviewed Mrs. Taube Import, Director of Operations, as to what inspired all of the many new structural changes in the lunchroom.

Sarah M: What inspired the new changes in the appearance and layout in the lunchroom?

Taube Import: We needed to be able to use the Commons for more than just lunch. The type of tables that used to be in the Commons didn’t allow us to move or store them easily. The lighting was also too dim. And, as you know, it was too noisy.

SM: Have the new changes been successful so far?

TI: The new food line system has been very successful. The food has been served a lot more quickly. Some people are unhappy that, for example, the french fries have been removed from the menu for lunch. We are trying to make our lunch choices healthier this year. However, most people are very pleased with everything.

SM: Are there any other changes that we can expect in the future?

TI: We are going to be getting new lighting because it is so dim. We are also going to be getting panels on the walls to absorb some of the sound, so it is not as loud. Now that we have new tables with benches and not chairs, we have installed hooks for coats.
In the Commons you can now see that there are panels on the walls and the lights are brighter. The changes have been incredibly successful and we all enjoy them.
