Internet Safety Resources

There has been a lot of information recently in the news about the dangers that lurk for children from predators on the Internet. Dateline on NBC, The Wall Street Journal, and The Washington Post, among others, have run pieces about this serious problem.

On March 15, 2006, Dolores Hayes, the Chair of the Computer Science and Technolgy Department and Eileen Corigliano, Middle School Head and Technology Coordinator, gave a special presentation for parents. The presentation focused on raising parental awareness levels and explained the current trends this online generation has embraced. The importance of bridging the generation gap was stressed to encourage parents to continue to give their children the guidance they need at home to use these tools safely and effectively.
