A Message Regarding Hurricane Katrina

September 2, 2005 - Our entire community at Staten Island Academy has been deeply affected by the catastrophe caused by Hurricane Katrina. We are prepared to do everything we can during this time of tragedy to assist those in need and have implemented the following courses of action.

First, we have offered to NAIS (National Association of Independent Schools) the hospitality of the school for students from the 11 independent schools in the region that were devastated by the tragedy.  

Second, our students will be working with the Staten Island tsunami relief organization that is organizing a similar assistance initiative for the people of Louisiana and Mississippi. Our students gave hands-on clerical support last year, which helped raise a significant amount of money for tsunami relief.
