Dr. Albert L. Patrick

The Staten Island Academy community mourns the passing of Dr. Albert L. Patrick. Our condolences to his wife Laura Elliman Patrick ‘52, sons Theodore ‘64, Bruce ‘71, Marc ‘74 and Craig ‘79, daughter Dianne Patrick ‘78, stepdaughters Sarah Van Leeuwen ‘76, Susan Nutt ’77 and Martha Nutt, his grandchildren and the entire family.

Dr. Patrick, an eminent pediatrician, was dedicated to serving the children of Staten Island. He served as a Staten Island Academy trustee for 20 years and board president for ten years. In 1976 the school established an award for excellence in science in honor of Dr. Patrick. He was recognized for his outstanding dedication and service to the Academy at the school’s first President’s Ball, which was held in 1996.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 8 at 11:00AM in Christ Episcopal Church in New Brighton. Internment of ashes will be in Moravian Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the Patrick Family has asked that memorial gifts be made to the Academy in support of the school’s financial aid programs. Gifts can be made online or mailed to Staten Island Academy, Dr. Albert L. Patrick Memorial, 715 Todt Hill Road, Staten Island, NY 10304.

The Academy is deeply grateful to the family for this honor.
