Richard E. Diamond Faculty Summer Enrichment Grant Symposium

October 2005 - Observing giant tortoises in the Galapagos Islands, conversing with teachers in Paris, tasting authentic Cajun cooking in New Orleans and creating a history curriculum based on original manuscripts on the civil war and world history will be the exciting subjects of discussion at the Richard E. Diamond Faculty Enrichment Grant symposium on Tuesday, November 1, from 4:00PM to 5:30PM in the Haugen Hall Auditorium.

Four Staten Island Academy faculty members, Caren Platis, who teaches history and chairs the history department; Clayton Wollney, science teacher and department chair; Michael Bowler, history teacher; and Edward Graban, French teacher, will give a presentation on their summer experiences for the Academy community.

The enrichment grant program was established in memory of Richard E. Diamond ’40 by the Diamond Family.

The event is free and open to the public. A reception will immediately follow the symposium.
