The Staten Island Academy community extends its heartfelt congratulations to Mrs. Lavdije Balili on becoming an American citizen. She is a member of the Culinart staff.

Mrs. Balili, an immigrant from Albania, was overjoyed to hear that she is now officially a citizen of the United States. To celebrate her good news and show her appreciation, Mrs. Balili brought in a large cake with the words “Thank You America” written across the top. Academy faculty and staff were very touched that Mrs. Balili chose to share her special occasion with them. “She is a lovely person and I think it’s fantastic that she is now a proud American,” said one administrator, “We are very happy for her.”
