Staten Island Academy Announces New Members of Board of Trustees July 2005 - Staten Island Academy announces the addition of three new members to the Board of Trustees. The Honorable Charles J. D'Arrigo, who gave the keynote address at the Academy's 2005 commencement, is a former Surrogate Judge of the County of Richmond, State of New York. He attended the all-boys school Dongan Hall-Arden in the 1930's, one of the progressive institutions that later merged with the Academy. Judge D'Arrigo, who has received dozens of accolades throughout his career, is the recipient of the 1959 Man of the Year Distinguished Community Service Award, the 1984 YMCA Distinguished Community Award and the 1992 Carillon Award for Distinguished Community Service. Judge D'Arrigo graduated from Wagner College, and Brooklyn Law School. Lance P. Meaney is a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs & Co. where he is responsible for global technology operations. Prior to that, he directed technology of services and infrastructure at Spear Leeds and Kellogg before Goldman Sachs acquired it in 1984. Mr. Meaney has held positions at Bear Sterns, Pershing Securities and Dean Witter Reynolds. Mr. Meaney studied computer science at New York University. Robert S. Cutrona, Sr. has over thirty years of experience in finance and business. He is Founding Director of Victory State Bank and is President of Project-One Services Group, a renovation and maintenance company that specializes in shopping centers, condominiums and commercial buildings. Mr. Cutrona also has served on several committees and boards such as Staten Island Chamber of Commerce, Staten Island Economic Development Corporation and the Staten Island Heart Society. Mr. Cutrona graduated with an MBA in Finance from the City University of New York, and received a BBA in Accounting from Pace University. Steven W. Pasko, a current member of the board, has been named Vice President. He is a Senior Manager at IXIS Capital Markets North America Inc., where he directs investment banking and strategic acquisitions. Before that, his positions included Chief Executive Officer of Venturehighway.com and Managing Director, investment banking of Deutsche Banc Alex.Brown. Mr. Pasko graduated with an MBA in finance from Wharton School of Finance and Commerce, and a BA in business administration from Rutgers College. "We congratulate the new board members and look forward to hearing their perspectives," said Board of Trustees President John J. Fafian '83. "Their proactivity, leadership and guidance will bring valuable insight to our discussions about the Academy." Additional Officers of the Staten Island Academy Board of Trustees are John J. Fafian '83, President; Dina Marie Filippini, Secretary; and Vincent J. Dugan '83, Treasurer. Current members are Caroline Diamond Harrison '82; Elissa Carpenter, Suzanne Stirn Ainslie '72; Jahnbaz Almas; Joseph A. Dezio; David Herzog, M.D.; Dr. J. Geoffrey Pierson; Carolyn Raia, M.D.; Henry J. Scroope, III; Anthony Vasaturo; and Kathleen Gerbing Weingast. Honorary members are Nancy Avis; Virginia T. Kearns '36; Albert L. Patrick, M.D.; Francis H. Powers; and Vito Soranno. Staten Island Academy, located on a lush 12-acre campus,
educates students from age four through high school. It is composed of
seven buildings, including a completely refurbished theater and state-of-the-art
computer facilities. Outdoors are two swimming pools, athletic fields,
and tennis courts. Renovation projects are expected to begin this summer
