Staten Island Academy to Host 31 st Annual “Academy Award” Auction

March 22, 2007 ( Staten Island, NY) – Staten Island Academy is hosting its 31 st annual auction at The Vanderbilt at South Beach on April 21. The theme is “Staten Island Academy Awards.”

The night will begin at 6 PM with light supper, cocktails and a silent auction, which will feature hundreds of items ranging in price from $10 to $2,000. At 8:30 PM, the live auction will begin, and guests will have the opportunity to bid on 20-25 “priceless” items, such as one-of-a-kind experiences or services and extraordinary vacations.

We want to thank the many members of the Academy community who have worked diligently to ensure the success of this exciting fundraising event, which helps to support the school’s operations. Volunteer team leaders include Doreen Calcagno, Debra Denmark, Deborah Fafian, Denise Mattera and Zohara Zagouri. Other volunteers are Randi Adler, Patricia Auteri, Kim Avis, Jane Bartels, Lisa Bova-Hiatt, Patrice Cannavo, Denise Ciluffo, Jennifer Cutrona, Lori D’Arco, Christine DeVito, Deborah Falcone, Cathy Gaudio, Colleen Kelleher Sorrentino, Julia Koniosis, Dorothea Meaney, Joanne Mercado, Nicole Meyers, Michelle Pasko, Teresa Pelosi, Barbara Stamato, Daniela Taflin, Laurie Traficante and Andrea Wyne.

Staten Island Academy , located on a lush 12-acre campus, is a college-preparatory day school for Grades Pre-Kindergarten through 12 with an average class size of 17. The Academy is composed of seven buildings, including a gymnasium and fitness center, theater and state-of-the-art computer facilities.
