28th Annual Auction at Staten Island Academy

March, 2004 - Over 250 members of the Staten Island Academy community gathered on February 28, 2004 in the school’s OJ Buck Gymnasium for the school’s 28th Annual Auction. The evening included silent and live auction items, and sumptuous dining and refreshments.

The event raised over $200,000 for the Academy’s annual giving campaign.

The night’s festivities included live bidding on walk-on roles on the popular television shows “The Sopranos” and “Law and Order,” a vacation package to the Ritz Carlton in Cancun, winemaking at Vino Divino, Head of School for a day, and lovely crafts created by students.

The 28th Annual Auction Committee was chaired Dina Marie Filippini. The committee members included Kamala Anantharam, Alice Chin, Tom DeMarzo, Deborah Fafian, Rose LaMorte, Tara Leary, Steve Pasko and Lisa Yost.

The auction was sponsored by KAP Beverages, Supreme Caterers, Manfredi Management, Tower Estates, Osato Coffee Bar, Mrs. And Mrs. B. Rakhman, Applied Printing, Corey Co., Vitolo Skin Care & Spa, Vino DiVino, Excalibur Extravaganza Limousine, TIAA-CREF, Richard Addeo, Dr. and Mrs. T. Woloszyn, and Mr. and Mrs. J. The Academy is very grateful to the parent and faculty volunteers who made this year’s action a night to remember, and to the many businesses that donated auction items and services.

Famed South Korean singer Joo Hyun Ock visited students at Staten Island Academy on February 24, 2004 to film a popular South Korean television show called "First Calls of South Korea."
