Twitter is an online social networking service that allows users to send short messages to one another. The messages of those you “follow” are displayed on your login page (or your iPhone or Blackberry), and your messages appear on the screens of your “followers.” The Web page for Twitter is www.twitter.com. How does the Academy use Twitter?
Staten Island Academy uses Twitter to distribute big school news. We don’t “tweet” every day, but use the service from time-to-time to tell our “followers” about events and major school news. We also use Twitter on our private ROAR! network to keep students and parents posted about the latest from the Athletics Department, the Fine and Performing Arts Department, and the faculty.

Why would I want to become a Twitter follower of the Academy?
Stay connected to the school and the latest events and news. If you’re a Twitterer, the Academy would love to share information with you. (Unfortunately, tweets on our private network ROAR! are “protected” and can only be viewed on ROAR!)

You can get an RSS Feed of tweets from Staten Island Academy. Just go to the school’s Twitter page and click on the RSS link to the bottom right of the page.
