Parent Volunteers for the Academy Fund

We welcome all parents to volunteer their help for the Academy Fund.  As an Academy Fund volunteer, you ask other parents to join you in being a philanthropist.  By volunteering, you meet other parents, play a formal role at the school and make an important difference in the education of all of our students.

The number of parents you will be asked to contact varies, and you can certainly decide how many contacts will work for you.  You will be asked to make most of your calls between September and the end of the year, although there might be a need for some follow-up calls in the winter or spring.
Parents can also volunteer to host grade-level gatherings in their homes, at which one or more school administrators will be present to inform parents of the many ways they can support the school.
To volunteer, please contact the Development Office at development@statenislandacademy.org.

Spring Fundraising Event Volunteer
The Annual Benefit Auction takes place in April.  Volunteers help plan, organize and run the Academy’s only fundraising event of the year.  It provides a chance to get to know other parents while giving crucial service to the school.  The Auction Committee decides the auction theme and venue, solicits donations and promotes ticket sales.  Again, if you wish to help, simply contact the Development Office at development@statenislandacademy.org.

General Office Assistance
There are many times during the school year when a helping hand is greatly appreciated.  If you can help with mailing or photocopying, or assist the Admissions Office during an Open House, please contact either the Development Office or the Admissions Office.  We are very grateful for your help, whether it is ongoing or limited to a single day.

Alumni Class Agent
An Alumni Class Agent serves the Academy as a liaison between his or her classmates and the school.  They donate their time to help organize reunions and other alumni events, and they often take part in fundraising.  The Office of Alumni and Community Relations collects information gathered by Class Agents and communicates it to other alumni, who are eager to hear about academic achievements, cross-country moves and new addresses, career changes, marriages and births.  And classes with active Class Agents always enjoy the best reunions!  To learn more about how you can support our Alumni program, contact development@statenislandacademy.org.
