Description: |
|
Students perform a full-length play by major playwrights. Various styles and periods of playwriting are chosen for this show. Believing that every Upper School student should have the opportunity to perform in a Shakespeare play at least once in his or her high school career, a work by Shakespeare is performed at least once every four years. In the recent years, we have performed The Three Musketeers, The Laramie Project, Sophocles’ Oeidpus and Antigone, Hamlet, The Arabian Nights, Aristophane’s The Birds, Much Ado About Nothing, Cyrano De Bergerac, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Twelfth Night, The Crucible, Neil Simon’s Rumors and Light up the Sky. |

With a cast of approximately 40 students, we are able to provide many opportunities for non-principals to be in the spotlight as well. Our production values are high, and the musical is the most attended event of the academic year. Recent productions includeInto the Woods, Oklahoma, On the Town, Damn Yankees, Hello Dolly!,Guys and Dolls, Anything Goes, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and Fiddler on the Roof.
