  Description:   Students perform a full-length play by major playwrights.  Various styles and periods of playwriting are chosen for this show.  Believing that every Upper School student should have the opportunity to perform in a Shakespeare play at least once in his or her high school career, a work by Shakespeare is performed at least once every four years.  In the recent years, we have performed The Three Musketeers, The Laramie Project, Sophocles’ Oeidpus and Antigone,  Hamlet, The Arabian Nights, Aristophane’s The Birds, Much Ado About Nothing, Cyrano De Bergerac, A Midsummer Nights Dream, Twelfth Night, The Crucible, Neil Simon’s Rumors and Light up the Sky.

  Description:   This annual presentation features the Grade 1-4 Chorus, as well as Grades 3 and 4 instrumental ensembles. Seasonal selections will be performed, as well as traditional spirituals and folk music. Admission is free.

  Description:   Kick-off the holiday season with an evening of festive vocal and instrumental selections reflecting the season, featuring the Academy’s Concert Choir; our men’s ensemble, Something Musical; our women’s ensemble, Sweet Harmony; and the SIA Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, and String Ensemble. Steeped in tradition, this concert honors our seniors as they perform some traditional favorites, as well as some more contemporary songs of the season. Also, enjoy the student art work on display in the Atrium Gallery. Admission is free.

  Description:  
Each year, the Staten Island Academy Players perform a major work of American musical theater. With a cast of approximately 40 students, we are able to provide many opportunities for non-principals to be in the spotlight as well. Our production values are high, and the musical is the most attended event of the academic year. Recent productions includeInto the Woods, Oklahoma, On the Town, Damn Yankees, Hello Dolly!,Guys and Dolls, Anything Goes, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and Fiddler on the Roof. Last year’s musical was Into the Woods. Tickets can be ordered in advance at the new Staten Island Academy Online Box Office.

  Description:   Grades 2- 4 present musical works that they have prepared in class. Taken from a rich variety of folk songs, spirituals and Jazz literature, students will perform on a variety of pitched percussion instruments and recorders. Admission is free, but seating is somewhat limited.

Our production values are high, and the musical involves over 80% of our Grade 7 and 8 students. Recent productions include Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka, The Wizard of Oz, Oliver!, Babes in Arms, Seussical, Cinderella, Honk Once Upon a Mattress.
