MEET THE TIGERS!
Our Tigers kick, shoot, pass, block, pitch, dribble, and SCORE all year long. The Academy curriculum includes physical education (PE) at every grade level and team sports in Grades 5-12. Led by a team of outstanding coaches, Academy students are as committed to their teams as they are to their classmates. Because we play in independent, private, and Catholic school leagues, we play here at home and travel to Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, the Bronx, New Jersey, and Long Island to compete against some of the toughest competition in the New York City area. We are proud that athletic travel, supplies, equipment, and uniforms are included in the cost of tuition.
LIFE LESSONS
Staten Island Academy believes that team sports build character, encourage cooperation, a sense of fair play, and promote life-long fitness. Many of life’s most important lessons -- the value of teamwork, winning and losing, following through on a commitment, respect for others -- are introduced and reinforced on the playing fields and courts. Our goal is to be competitive in every game, strive to be the best we can be, and, of course, win -- all the while never losing sight of how to play fairly, demonstrate good sportsmanship and respect our opponents and game officials. Go Tigers!
