Ruth Teague, Director of Admissions and Financial Aid, joined the Academy in 2011. Ruth graduated from Hobart and William Smith Colleges, NY with a degree in English and Education. She worked in admissions in Salem College, WVA and then returned to her alma mater in 1978 to serve as an Associate Director of Admissions where she oversaw the junior and support staff as well as coordinated HWS Admission Volunteers. During her tenure at HWS, she was also active with both NACAC and NYSACAC where she co-lead Workshops for Admissions Directors and VPs for Enrollment, served as Chief Delegate for NYS, and facilitated panels on College/School Partnerships as well as Women in Admission. Ruth also managed the Finger Lakes Tour, a consortial program for high school counselors jointly sponsored by HWS, Ithaca College, University of Rochester and Syracuse University. Finally, she volunteered extensively within the Geneva community in a variety of leadership roles focused upon youth-based initiatives which benefited the local schools and YMCA, including President of the Geneva Athletic Booster Club and Coordinator of the Diko Memorial Lacrosse Games.

In her new job at the Academy, Ruth was drawn to its student-centered academic curriculum, vision for diversity/global citizenship and the range/strength of the extra-curricular activities. She also plans to explore the wonders of Staten Island from shore to shore in addition to the NY Metro area.
