Everyone is welcome at the Academy! Last year, we granted over $1.8 million in financial aid assistance to 30% of our families, and the annual William Winter Scholarships offer entrance to the Academy along with scholarship assistance for students entering Grades 6 and 9.
Financial need should never discourage a family from applying for admission. We are committed to providing tuition assistance to ensure that our outstanding program is open to all qualified candidates. We are also committed to creating a community that is as socio-economically diverse as it is ethnically, spiritually, and racially diverse. Toward that end, we welcome applications from families in all income brackets.
Assistance packages can combine any of the following options:
William Winter Scholarships
Scholarships are open to students who will be entering Grade 6 or Grade 9 in September 2010. Students from all public, parochial and private schools are eligible to participate. Awards are based on an examination, school transcripts, teacher recommendations, and a personal interview. The awards are not based on financial need. Learn more.
Financial Aid Grants
Financial aid grants are available for students with demonstrated financial need as determined by information provided on the School and Student Service (SSS) and Parent Financial Statement (PFS) forms. We do not use an income scale as a cut-off for grants. Financial Aid is available for students in Kindergarten through Grade 12. PFS forms are available in the Admissions Office. You may apply online after November 15, 2009 at http://sss.nais.org/. Please read the Financial Aid Guidelines.
Discounts & Payment Plans
The Academy offer a semi-annual installment plan, a 10-month installment plan, and an early discount for tuition paid in full by May 1 prior to the start of the school year.
Education Loans
The SallieMae K-12 Family Education Loan is available to parents or other creditworthy family members of children attending private elementary, middle, or high schools, including prep schools, military schools, parochial schools, Montessori schools, boarding schools, and others. Some families may use the loan in addition to financial aid awards from the Academy. Other families who do not qualify for financial aid may find it an effective way to help pay tuition.
