UPPER SCHOOL GRADES 9 - 12

Staten Island Academy's Upper School is a place where every student can truly be known. We maximize the participation of 100 percent of our students. No one gets left on the sidelines. From leading assembly to leading classroom discussions, all of our students have opportunities to act in leadership roles and to make their voices heard and opinions known.

The academic program is rigorous. We offer an amazing array of Advanced Placement and honors courses. Master teachers shape college-level classroom experiences. Our college guidance program, which begins in Grade 9, works with each student to find the colleges that best match that student’s goals and personality.

While academics and activities intensify, the culture of our Upper School remains more cooperative than competitive. Our students accept their diversity and are respectful of their classmates. Visitors often remark on how polite our students are. Where else will you find a prom — the Geranium Ball attended by both students and their parents?
