Lea Prendergast, Diversity Coordinator, joined Staten Island Academy in 2004. She completed her Bachelor's Degree at Hunter College and her Master's Degree in Library Science at Rutgers University. Mrs. Prendergast, the Head Librarian at Staten Island Academy, teaches Library to students in Pre-K through Grade 4, as well as a research class to students in Grades 7-8. She also serves as a Grade 8 advisor and was the former Assistant Director of Diversity. Read more about Mrs. Prendergast.

Mrs. Prendergast was appointed the Diversity Coordinator in July 2010. In this role she is responsible for community outreach. She chairs the Diversity Action Committee, a faculty group which promotes multiculturalism and offers resources and programs for our Staten Island Academy students, parents, and faculty.
